About The Drill Hall Theater - 2006 to 2011

Originally the gymnasium where WWII soldiers trained for combat, the Drill Hall is now the Drill Hall Theater. While preserving much of the original architecture, including detailed brickwork, the hall has been transformed into a state-of-the-art event space. After 6 years as a 230-seat theater and producing 23 professional musicals, we have refocused the emphasis of the Drill Hall to events and meetings starting 2012. We all know the economy hasn't been kind to the entertainment world especially the dinner theater world. As much as it pains us, we have to move on and give the Janesville Armory's customers what they really seem to want from us...that being great dining in the restaurants, Friday Night Comedy and special events!

With a dramatic increase in our guests’ desire to hold more events at the Armory, we developed a more diverse, flexible space for special events, fund raisers and concerts. By changing to this type of schedule we will be able to provide greater flexibility for our guests. We will continue to hold annual events such as the Fall Wine Festival, Easter Brunch, Mother’s Day Brunch and New Years Eve.

The biggest single change will be a move away from full musical theater productions at the Armory starting in 2012. This will allow for more flexible scheduling for a multi-purpose venue.
